WEEK SEVEN

‘The way to the Holy Grail leads over the corpse of your old ‘I’

Story Time

I feel pressed to tell you this tale because the message that it contains is . . . mysterious.

Once there was a fisherman, on the shores of a great river. The river was so wide that the far side could not be seen with the naked eye. Each day, the fisherman would leave his house and go out in his boat and find a nice and reliable spot to fish in. He knew the currents and the different kinds of fish, and he knew that he would catch just enough to feed his family by day’s end. The net that he used was made of strong thread and the weave tightly woven to catch the smallest of fish. To the fisherman, all fish, no matter the size, were important and every catch was used wisely. Small fish were pickled and put into jars for the winter by the fisherman’s wife, bigger fish were salted and dried, hung under the vines and then placed into the cellar, and the one or two larger fish were prepared for a special feast to which friends and family were invited to share in the spoils.

This continued for many a year until one day, while the fisherman was sitting on a rock by his boat, a Being of Light appeared in front of him. At first the fisherman was frightened but after the Being spoke, he felt at peace and listened to what was asked of him.

‘You have been diligent in your disciplines,” stated the being of light, “and you have shared your spoils when you have had plenty. You have mended your net as soon as a hole appeared, and you have never returned home empty handed. This has been noticed, and because of this you are being asked to continue to fish with the same discipline and care, but now you will now be a fisher of men, even while you continue to lead an impeccable life being the head of your household and bringing in the daily bread.’

‘How am I to be a fisher of men?’ asked the confused fisherman.

‘You will weave a net with wisdom,” responded the being of light, “Make the holes too big to catch small fish and bottom feeders, yet just large enough for a decent sized fish. This net of wisdom will attract a large number of creatures from the waters of consciousness, for the glow of wisdom is as a light that draws unto itself. You will cast this net out into the water channels that are shown to you, and people will be drawn to it. Those that are too small minded, too narrow minded, argumentative, undisciplined, cynical, undeveloped, immature, malicious and addicted to vices, will be too small in spirit and will easily fall through the net. Those caught in the net because of their size of spirit, must then be tested for their strength, perseverance, discipline, diligence, focus and ability to take direction without quarrel. Those that do not adhere to the guidelines are to be released back into the water to continue their lives with the others who share their manner of being.

The chosen fish are to be cleansed of their annoyance, irritability, exasperation, anger, rage, wrath, chagrin, pique, crossness, indignation, displeasure, discontent, dissatisfaction, disgruntlement, peevishness, petulance, testiness, gall, resentment, umbrage, slothfulness, scorn, avarice, greed, laziness, cynicism and argumentative natures.

The cleansing is to be done with mental focus, conscious exercises, and knowledge. Over time, if they do their work and are deemed worthy, their daily lives will take many different directions. Over time they will lose the psychic miasma they have acquired, their genetic life force will be cleared, they will cease being intoxicated by glamour, they will mingle with like-minded people, they will seek the truth and strive for clear-mindedness, and they will know a falsehood when they chance upon it. They will embody strength, perseverance, discipline, diligence, focus, love, patience, peace and forgiveness as a way of life. They will be honourable within their own families and set an example of a divine way of life, yet never impose their truth upon anyone who is not ripened and ready for it. They will revel in their daily skills, find joy, learn everything that they can, and they will always have time for another like-minded brother or sister.”

“Time? We have but very little of it! How long will this take?” asked the fisherman as he began to recognise the scope of the task being set before him.

“To the fearful, the use of time is erratic and taken up with consumerism. To the fearful, time is consumed until it has run out. But to the fearless, time is an investment that exists only as a moment in the grand scheme of things. Every single second is used to extract as much of life as possible. Time is acknowledged for its true worth, not for entertainment, exploration or indulgence of the senses, but for its ability to offer the great opportunity to consciously expand, upward and inward, towards a deeper consciousness. The greater the knowledge, the deeper the expansion, the greater the power, the greater the responsibility. However, a portion of the human itself must become smaller in the exchange. As the fish grows bigger in its courage and humility, so will the dead scales fall from it through the net and return from whence they came.

After much cleansing and learning to dive deeply into consciousness over a large portion of time, shortened or lengthened by the nature and diligence of each individual, the fish becomes a two-fold fish. He then receives an invitation that allows him to live in the depths of inner consciousness (super-consciousness), being of service in higher realms to the rest of the small fish, or allows him to return to be a physically incarnated fisherman to be of service to the small fish.”

“But who is chosen, and who is the one who deems them worthy?” queried the fisherman with a slight frown appearing on his weathered forehead, for he was not altogether sure he liked the sound of what is being requested of him.

The Light Being replied gently, “No one incarnated into a physical body makes that choice. Each and every human’s Greater Self knows their human correlate, sees their heart, their discipline and diligence, can observe their secret kindnesses, vices and addictions, watches the interplay between their desires and their service, calculates their maturity and surrender, feels their pulse and the very flow of blood that courses through them, then, accepting their mind and the Celestial Pathways in their brain, choosesA fruit is never harvested before it is ripe!”

The fisherman persisted. “But how does the Greater Self choose?”

The mysterious Light Being leaned closer. “When the elephant has become a mosquito,” he whispered, “when the glass is half full, when dawn is the best time of the day, when the Fairy God Mother is harnessed to create reality, when the Me is first exchanged by the We and then eventually replaced by the I AM, when the intake of food and drink is conscious with thought, when kindness is the default, when daily bread is received and not earned, when quality replaces quantity, when it is accepted that ‘of myself I can do nothing’, when death is not feared, when peace is the defence of choice, when wisdom does not depend upon mind, age or memory but upon maturity, purity and the perfection of the personality, when the personality becomes a tool for the Spirit, when the five senses no longer hold the truth, and when a life is lived in inspiration though realisation and the joy that is given freely by the Divine. Then that human is considered chosen.”

‘But humans—and I am one myself—will harass me about their position, and they will doubt, and I will have no answers for them! What should I tell them?”

“I will give you a guide to share with each of your small fish so they will judge themselves and they will position themselves. They will learn to place themselves honestly, for those who undervalue themselves will grow discontented and yearn for more, and those who overvalue themselves will set themselves up for a fall. Those who are honest will find inspiration for improvement and will accept acknowledgement for their achievements. They will know balance.”

This is the guide upon which each person is to judge and position himself: Beginning at number one from the least considered conscious

  1. the student’s focus and discipline are taken for granted and paying the fee of entitlement is the only investment.(No idea of real value but demand entertainment)
  2. the student’s focus and discipline take place if it suits them, and conscious living is barely perceivable in social and household environments.(Uncommitted)
  3. the student’s focus and discipline take place whenever they get a chance or find time and conscious living is hidden in the personal environment and the struggle for peace and freedom is great.(Undecided but interested)
  4. the student’s focus and discipline is applied during courses or retreats and conscious attention is given to daily living to apply learning. After courses or retreats, discipline becomes slackened and conscious living is forfeited for social environment.(Attempting but unfocused)
  5. the student’s focus, discipline and conscious living is approached from a new perspective at each course or retreat (surrender to the greater self is necessary for this step and the relinquishing of many resistances and attitudes) and the additions of mindfulness, trust, reliability, service and willingness become automatic anywhere.(Commitment to self but doubtful)
  6. the student’s focus and discipline are automatic, correct application of knowledge is consciously adhered to in each situation and conscious living has no fear of the existence of ignorance or the appearance of any outward manifestations. With any outward manifestations, correct application of knowledge is consciously adhered to.(Focused, disciplined & unwavering)
  7. the student’s focus and discipline being automatic – their abilities, powers and talents surface and the gentle cultivation of abilities is mindfully nurtured. Conscious living becomes a life unseen and unnoticed and the adept skilfully begins to live two lives. One on the surface, where life continues to unfold and one beneath the waves, where great movements can take place and time and space lose all sense of belonging.(The Adept becoming more)

Then the Light Being added, “The average fishermen will follow the surface weather patterns, look to the tides and weather the waves. They will move to different places in the hopes of catching a fish for dinner and go hungry when a storm rages outside. Some days they will eat and some days they will not.

Those who are two-fold, who live in two worlds, will always know how to swim on the surface, to use a boat and enjoy the calm waves. But they will also know how to dive deeply into the darkness of solitude and timelessness when a storm is raging. They will naturally know the secret to the great tuna and understand the importance of dusk and dawn, of twilight and of midnight.

Now I must take my leave, knowing that you will always know what to do, as you have been faithful in the small disciplines. Call whenever you need guidance and you will receive it, for nothing is ever as it appears.” And with that the Light Being disappeared.

The fisherman sat thoughtfully upon the rock. The sands beneath his feet moved, yet the rock he sat upon remained immovable, and he began to dream a new dream.

Note: The results will depend upon the personal aptitude of the student, on their integrity and sincerity as well as the inspiration that that they receive from within. The slowest way to enlightenment has got to be the scepticism employed when the five senses are not satisfied by evidence. Evidence with the five senses is, a luxury only the advanced and masters appreciate – faith, willingness and common sense carry the burden for the initiate . . . for the most part. JB

Not a single thought goes unheard

“The world is a closed circle and a human is an archer, who without Knowing, is shooting all his good and bad arrows back at himself . . .”

It is time to approach a much-discussed topic—the observation of thoughts. The above statement makes it clear that not a single thought released from your mind, is faceless, unidentified, unknown or belonging to no one.

Whether it impacts consciously or unconsciously, each and every single thought reaches its target, gathers it power and finds its way to the intended subject.

If you are persistent enough to focus upon your woes – they will multiply in your life.

If you are stubborn enough to focus upon your lack – it will be the nature of your experience.

If you are critical enough to judge yourself unlovable – you will feel isolated and unloved.

If you are scornful enough to see the unacceptable in others – so your thoughts will increase the scorn within your own being.

If you are cynical enough to project ugliness onto the world – your world will always be ugly.

If you are un-forgiveable enough to blame your world – your world will always be abusive.

I reiterate—not a single thought that you have is anonymous and all thoughts go somewhere! This includes your agreement or acceptance of what others say and think.

Mental alliances matter!

They matter when they include negativity and they matter when they include Divinity. Your ability to dissolve the little ‘I’ depends upon this abstract thought.

Most humans do not know that they have built a tower that will be levelled (repeatedly) in life or finally at death. (Ref. Tarot card 16 – The Tower). They feel safe behind its walls and any suggestion to lure them out in countless ways is met with obstinate refusal. Coupled with this, is their highly organised justification system and impenetrable stone walls. The deepest challenge that we have as teachers is to break through the tower that each individual has built in their attempt to ‘reach god’.  Because most live a stubborn, ensconced existence, and because the concept of ‘reaching god’ is imagined as going up, being above others, looking down upon others, competing against others and in all ways pretending differently, we literally get ‘stone walled!’

The philosophy, literature, conspiracy theories, doubts, past, memories, games, rebellion and the like, are all used to build this fortress brick by eager brick. Humans hide in their towers, afraid of the world and imagined terrors, afraid of their own shadows, afraid of social media, afraid of meat, afraid of carbohydrates, afraid of fun, afraid of getting dirty, and afraid of other people. They have no difficulty finding other ways to add another brick.

A teacher, a ‘fisher-of-men’ need only create a crack big enough to allow the light of the Great Self in to becomes a force of conscious change. However, for many, the teacher has to cause a lightning strike, a shift of the assemblage point.

Any movement of the assemblage point means a movement away from excessive concern with the individual self. Shamans believe it is the position of the assemblage point which makes modern man a homicidal egotist; a being totally involved with his self-image. Having lost hope of ever returning to the source of everything, the average man seeks solace in his selfishness.

  • don Juan, ‘The Power of Silence’

The hope is to at least loosen the bricks so that some light can penetrate into the interior. Skilful students and non-students alike have lit a hundred candles inside, thinking that they are good and doing well. But though there is a simulation of light in their lives and things are reasonably good, in the depths of their dungeons they are terrified of the real light because they imagine that it will expose them, expose their games. Such exposure makes an individual feel vulnerable, and vulnerability begets fear. They are petrified that all the work they have done (in building their tower), all the books they read, the degrees they have earned and the money they have collected and paid will be for nothing! They hold themselves in isolation behind masks of individuality, not needing anyone, being self-sufficient, keeping up appearances, being a leader, being well read, not being a fool, not being taken for granted, blah blah blah . . . dee-blah……

Teachers, those fishers-of-men know when someone is ‘dying’ properly, for they have neither the time to beautify themselves, nor the energy. They are melting down or breaking up. Perhaps things look ugly, or maybe they appear to be as ordinary as a donkey (not like a prize stallion at all) or maybe they are in chaos. It’s even likely that they don’t know who they are or where they belong!

Their tower is collapsing, and now their Spirit can do something with them!

Just as important is the ability of the teacher to know how to recognise this moment and to use it to the student’s best advantage, without ever feeling sorry for them, for a true teacher knows that this little donkey may some day become a great candidate to carry a Christ consciousness!

Humbleness . . . The little donkey is a self that consists of all of its burdens and unflattering characteristics, a human who is nothing special to behold, who is not looking to be a show pony or a great stallion or a circus steed or a race horse. This human is a little self waiting humbly to carry the internal masculine and feminine to a stable. When the internal self is freed from its tower, the emptiness makes it possible to find their way, through the Pineal centre, to the neighbourhood of a Christ or a Buddha or an adept.

The world is littered with the teachers and gurus who have forgotten that being a donkey is the not only the greatest sacrifice, it is also the greatest gift. The world is contaminated with teachers and gurus who have built towers higher than anyone else, and so they appear to know more, have more and be higher. They appear to be closer to god. But though their words are like velvet, their message is not supported with right actions, good attitudes, lofty disciplines, ancient teachings and dignified behaviour. Some are charismatic while others use their psychic power for trickery, but most if not all don’t teach their students to have the same abilities or show them how to climb the ladder towards their own Divine Selfhood.

A true teacher can only teach where they have been and where they currently are. Through a shift in their own assemblage point, they must have a firm grasp of direction, enough to give them a glimpse of the horizon. They refuse to teach as truth what they have not witnessed or observed, what they have not encountered and experienced themselves, and when they reveal a philosophy, they will not claim it as their own. Much of what they witness is in an altered state and they see ahead, moving with the direction themselves. A true teacher knows what they teach. Sadly, the world today is overrun by instructors posing as teachers – it has not occurred to most that true teaching is donkey work and really lacks glamour . . . it is an anointing from birth which has come from way beyond this current lifetime.

The Supreme Editor

Let’s talk about this Great Self . . . the supreme editor. This Self has manifested your body with a living soul. A living soul provides consciousness, the food of the body. It provides the life force and the godhood that is flowing through you. It understands that it has picked a human to experience certain things necessary for the soul’s continuation. You have brought some variances to your Great Self and maybe you used them and maybe you didn’t. You have another garment, a chemical body consciousness, that is given free will, and also comes with the free added benefit of an ego.

Now, the consciousness of the life force of the garment, the body mind consciousness, has became so strong that what was intended as a probable or potential destiny has not manifested. Why? Because of the ‘normal’ thinking that takes place in the neo-cortex. Your body-mind consciousness is stuffed tightly with what has been put into that grey matter and what insists on remaining there! All the potentials of the Great Self are tied up in mundane networking, painting the face, sexual conquest, intellectual striving and food. Instead of networking the brain and its great neighbourhoods, the networking is taking place in the illusion.

You have been confounded by an illusion.

If you have been running around concerned with the body- mind-self and its five senses all day, if fundamentally, that is all that you live for, no matter how philosophic you become and no matter how many books you espouse to have read, you will never open the door to the Fields of Infinity© because the Guardian (pituitary) knows that you don’t really want it.

What if you suddenly lost everything? The thought of that could send you into a nervous breakdown and put terror into your being. But what if that must happen to break the cycle?

Many great people before you were called saints because of what they did. They did it for the sake of Knowing their great Selfhood (God) so that the Divine Self in them would find them worthy.

How did their God find them worthy?

Their focus was always on God, the Source, the Great Spirit, the Soul, the One and always turned towards that divinity, looking purposefully for the good in everything.

They suffered, hurt, fevered and endured agony to break a chain of limited thinking.  When it is near, when you feel the break coming, you cannot wait for that moment! That, very simply put, is the attitude that ushers in this Divine Mind, the Etheric Mind, and it develops the Light Body and the conscious brain that in turn runs the physical body.

“Existence at other frequencies will require that you learn to ‘breathe’ or put life into another body.”

If you love your physical world, then this is what runs your reality. If you have an eye on God or the Divine Self, this is what is going to run your reality and will superimpose it through all the levels of your being.

If your Guardian (pituitary) is guarding the door of your thoughts, it is testing you to discover if you are ready to know certain things, because there are people who say that their brain is completely open – and it is a massive exaggeration!

If you suddenly had access to your midbrain, you would be seeing the denizens of all of your thoughts. The astral bodies of dreams and all your sexual fantasies lurk around you. All of your thoughts, dramas and victim-hoods take form—they are all real. They are NOT anonymous! If you had access to your midbrain, you would also suddenly know other people’s thoughts, you would feel destiny and you would know the probability of your life. You would imagine diseases and they would appear in front of you in an instant and you would not know what was real and what was an illusion.

The spirits who live in all of these realms, including the light realm, would be accessible to you. You would not know how to address them, how to have authority over them, you would not know how to befriend them, and you would not know how to rule them. Your lack of courage and fear would be responsible for your being subject to them because all of these things lurk as shadows in the conscious mind. These are the things that you are afraid to think about. They are all real, but your physical eyes do not see them; your psychic ‘eye’ sees them, but your brain edits them out, so although these things come through, your Guardian (pituitary) will only allow you to see what you can handle – what you are worthy of handling.

How do you discipline yourself to open your brain?

You open your brain by practising what Illumination is teaching you,

. . . by practising and focusing on extraordinary things.

In the process of developing your Selfhood, we have to quieten the conscious mind of body-mindconsciousness and resurrect a greater conscious mind—a higher mind—and that greater conscious mind is the one that can look at an entity, ghost, apparition or shadow, and understand what made it, without any fear, guilt or hatred, and see it for what it is.  When it is seen for what it is . . . it soon disappears. It has no negative or positive charge to attach itself to your existence.

There is not one person in this group that is capable of doing that—not one of you . . . yet.

We want to invite the memory from the Fields of Infinity© through the Cerebellum and into the Conscious Mind. Remember, the subconscious mind responds to the Now in the Present and when you are caught in the past or in a figment of the future . . . how can the subconscious mind reach you from your other frequencies of Selfhood?

The entire Field of Infinity© is in the NOW. God is the NOW. God does not swing from the future to the past; God is not bound by the linear concept of time. The Present is the moment that God (Field of Infinity©) is always there, and that includes the flow of knowledge and information of experiences from your pasts, presents and futures. They are held in the NOW, but they are interpreted by your midbrain according to your ability, maturity and personal growth.

If you can replace the corroded, illusory knowledge in the neo-cortex with practical experience, that is when you are able to feed the soul. If you can develop the conscious mind to become an open, super-conscious mind, then you will always access the Fields of Infinity©. The knowledge from your Selfhood, can only flow according to your ability to understand. If you do not understand what is on the astral plane, then you will not have the capacity to see what is on the astral plane.

Now you begin to understand that once this new knowledge (uninfluenced by the alter ego) is in place, the subconscious mind will start flowing upward through the Cerebellum and will begin manifesting in the frontal lobe.

Now you can have a fantastic reality!

The health of your brain is determined by its creative functions and by the future. What motivates the universe is what its becoming . . . not what it’s been.

“Biology is only half the equation. There are many who don’t like trees because they fell out of them as children and hurt themselves. That information goes to a certain part of the brain which then creates the memory of an accident or a trauma. That information is then released in the form of peptides that flow back to the hippocampus, are picked up by its receptor sites that bleed out their information. This subsequently flows back and is collected at the hypothalamus and the amygdala. The two modify the information that then, and then flows to the pituitary, and from there it is dispersed throughout the entire organism. The result? They have an allergic reaction to tree pollens.

Thereafter the image or memory of that tree approaches other cells as a peptide with information of the associated trauma, and the receiving cells modify themselves according to that memory. What is a memory? A memory is a return or a revisit to a former reality.

We might have made great progress with these cells if we had not lived with that trauma for 10 years, and if we’d gotten over it and healed correctly.  But sometimes we aren’t healed, and we live with that injury/abuse every single day.

TIME TO CLEAN UP THE PAST AND NEUTRALISE IT. TIME TO CHANGE THE MEMORY.

What do you think the Soul is?

The Soul hungers to idealise great morality and to become and unfold great paradigms of thought that penetrate into those secret realms so that that the very thought of them brings unbelievable joy!

In the future that is now unfolding, such teachings as Illumination are precious, for every time a man and woman achieve that lofty plane of detachment, there is a crushing blow that levels them to wipe out those great thoughts and bring them back to normal understanding.

A true teacher needs to know how to lead, teach, love and take intensely materialistic (and chemical) people and train them to pursue that which is not experienced by the five senses. It is a very challenging task. Your participation in Illumination was a great test and maybe one that you will come to understand. It will come up in your life review when you enter the light realm the end of your physical life, and you will participate with joy in your soul as your Great Self stands beside you. There are lofty beings who are very much aware the encounters you have had with each person on this Illumination journey, for they fill the living space on all other dimensions and have noted the sacrificing of your time, money, jobs, children and social encounters . . . and it meant everything! Sacrifice never goes unnoticed.

Prepare, for harsh winds are coming to blow those dead leaves off your branches.

Being on journeys such as this one means lifetimes for you, and the value of you being here on this journey is more than words can describe.

If you persist, you will be led to a place from which you will never again want to return to the physical plane. There has always been more to us than meets the eye. We don’t play your games very well, your little games of getting your feelings hurt, stubbornness, impatience, being a know it all. We have no time . . . in our time . . . in the river of life . . . to accommodate these people. But those who are in our soul – we have an eternity for you.

*  *  *

Finally . . .

Those little fish who will fall through the wise fisher-of-man’s net are those who believe that life happens to them. Those who remain in the net know what life is going to bring and will be big enough to remain caught up by wisdom herself. If you are one of the bigger fish who share this truth, I don’t have to convince you that a master doesn’t allow life to happen to him—a master makes life happen. We have finally found the reason for thought, for thought creates reality and our thoughts make thoughts happen.

by Paul G Balch | Ilumination

Task 7

Do not be so eager to hasten development!

Everything needs time, for

Patience, perseverance and tenacity are fundamental conditions of development.

An adept gives their life for this opportunity, not that they must lose their life, but they know deep within that they must walk the distance for an entire lifetime.

  • Be kind, generous and tolerant of others
  • Be relentless and hard with yourself through discipline, not criticism
  • Refrain from condemning or criticising. Sweep first before thine own doorstep …
  • Do not permit anyone to look into your Sanctuary (your Dream Diary and list of Jurors)
  • Keep silent with respect to your way, rise and success
  • Provide time for disciplines, and stick to them
  • Observe your thoughts from a neutral space twice daily (beginning with 7 mins)

Continue with the following exercise through its 7 stages over time: Do not be so eager to hasten development! 7 minutes is not better than 7 months if each step is not conscious and observed neutrally. The master is seldom the first over the finishing line. The master is the one who took the time . . .

  1. Thousands of jumbled thoughts making no sense or formation
  2. Hundreds of thoughts and less chaotic
  3. Many thoughts and clumping into themes
  4. Few thoughts in formation held for longer periods
  5. Hold onto one thought/idea for a longer while and suppress any other thoughts intruding
  6. One thought for 10 mins unbroken
  7. Introduce a vacancy of mind and hold onto it without digressing or forgetting

* Set aside thoughts that belong to different situations; in other words, compartmentalise. Leave work at work and home stays at home. If practised for a lifetime, it sharpens mind and strengthens consciousness and memory.

* What you have experienced and done with your food and drink, over the past 7 weeks – now apply to your breathing. No exaggerated breathing! No controlled inhale or exhale! Practice relaxed, light and rhythmic breathing. Now introduce conscious thoughts into your breath and allow them to flow through your blood and into your lungs. 7 breaths x twice a day, maximum.

Illumination is the first step and certainly not the last. Be at peace with where you are at yet aspire to a stronger connection with the Divine. The, Show enough willingness but do not get in your own way, for the fragile balance between these two is the key.

Each time we host a program, we ask that participants please send us a review, a write-up or a recommendation. We always hope the responses will be abundant, and so it is with Illumination.

It is time to say farewell for now. We hope that you have enjoyed your journey!

Always in laughter, light & love

And DO NOT forget to listen to your Celestial Pathway for 7 days!

Jaylee and Paul Balch
