In an anguished rush
Crazed by inadequacy
Driven by the desire
To own and consume
The human pursues undaunted
Applying strength first
And fearing failure, persists
In eating up the separation
Far ahead as a hopeful lure
Light keeps a measured distance
Each step taken gains no ground
Anxiety overtakes ambition
Which once quickened the pace
And the addiction to the chase
Dictates the reason to move
Not the Light – for its become
A distant memory – vague
Obscured by particles
Of knowledge and learning
The human, now a puppet
Of the movements of pursuit
Forgets the beginning
When they once stood still – in solitude
And the Light came to them
